Notably, the Defender 2000, launched in 2000, was the inaugural model in the MRP series and laid the foundation for the extensive customization options available in current offerings. Historically, LMT products have been positioned at a premium price point, reflecting the superior quality and meticulous attention to detail inherent in each rifle. In response to market demand, LMT has developed an entry-level rifle designed for new customers. This rifle incorporates the patented monolithic Rail Platform, distinguished as the only true monolithic Rail Platform, crafted from a single high-grade aluminum forging. The design includes two locking bolts on the receiver's side, securing the barrel extension. The MRP technology ensures a 360 degree engagement with the barrel extension, facilitating rapid barrel removal with minimal impact shift. A single receiver accommodates multiple barrels of varying lengths, materials and calibers. The monolithic Rail Platform barrels feature a low-profile gas block with a straight gas tube, enhanced by a proprietary coating and cryogenic treatment for extended durability. Additionally, the lower receiver is equipped with a textured grip, M4-style stock and a dry film lubricant-coated extension tube. The weapon system is supplied with a magazine and an owner's manual.
